About us
Food and Genes Initiative is a registered nongovernmental organization (CAC/IT/NO 147872) in Nigeria with the aim of improving the well-being and lifestyle of Africans through creating sustainable interventions using research, advocacy and technology on health related issues such as non-communicable diseases, substance abuse, and malnutrition. So far the organization has impacted more than 1 million people in Nigeria and other Africa countries through facilitating social media campaigns, secondary school outreaches, community outreaches, street conferences and partnering with organizations worldwide with similar goals.

The main objectives of the organisation include:
Engaging Youths on the effects of drug abuse, tobacco use and alcoholism on their health.
Breaching the gap between patients and health interventions using awareness and technology.
Advocate on policies that will help improve access to effective rehabilitation and care.
Create awareness on NCDs; their risk factors, and preventive measures.
Organise programs that will provide informations and resources needed to reduce the rate of overweight, stunting, and wasting amidst children.
Sensitize parents on exclusive breastfeeding, effective prenatal care, and childhood feeding.
Partner with other organizations working on abridging substance abuse, non communicable diseases, and malnutrition in Africa.
